Interested in visiting the Centre for Research in Linguistics and Languages Sciences?

The Centre welcomes applications from staff based at other universities /companies - in the UK and elsewhere - to spend time at Newcastle in support of their research, working alongside one of the Centre's leading academics.

You can find out more about the research activities in the Centre on our website, to identify research areas and academic staff related to you own. The Centre has a number of research clusters which organise events - more or less formal - to support staff and postgraduates.

If you would like to spend some time in the Centre, then please simply get in touch with the most appropriate staff member to discuss possibilities. All visiting staff, and their nominator, must complete the necessary University application form, IPR form, and Personal Data form. The original completed forms with a copy of the nominee's academic CV and copy of passport is to be sent to CRiLLS. Visiting staff members will be asked to pay a fee of £150 per month full-time (£75 part-time). On paying these fees, you will be entitled to:

  • the provisions of work space within CRiLLS;
  • access to computing services;
  • access to Newcastle University library; Centre seminars and other research events, as appropriate

You will be a full member of the research Centre and therefore receive, on a weekly basis, all information about its activities.

You will not receive any remuneration from Newcastle University for your time and the normal maximum length is three years.
