Are you interested in the natural world? Would you like to learn more about the fascinating marine life inhabiting our coasts?
Dove Marine Laboratory staff are looking for volunteers to participate in a project recording information on marine and coastal species in the north-east region. This information will be valuable to conservationists, to scientists and to coastal managers, helping them to make decisions about the protection of our rich coastal biodiversity. It could provide baseline information on changes in marine life due to climate change or pollution.
The information will also provide the basis of a series of interpretative materials, widening understanding of north-east marine life; the format of these will be decided on by participating volunteers.
Please see the Project Website - bigseasurvey.co.uk for further information.
Acknowledgement for funding gratefully received is given to the Heritage Lottery Fund.
