The field course is an excellent opportunity to meet other students, experience hands-on marine biology - and to visit the stunning Northumbrian coast!

Teaching is split between the main University campus in Newcastle, the Dove Marine Laboratory in Cullercoats, and various other field sites.
The field course will aid your visualisation of biological processes and issues relating to the marine environment, demonstrating the diverse range of techniques employed by marine scientists. You will be encouraged to develop a range of skills - and gain confidence in your ability to understand marine biological and scientific terms. There will be time for a social element too, with evening events organised.

Accommodation
Accommodation costs and evening meals are extra. We have a number of partner hotels and accommodation that we can recommend to suit different tastes and budgets. Newcastle and the wider Tyneside area has a wide range of excellent restaurants, cafés and bars for evening meals during the residential course.
Transport to and from Newcastle for the residential component and provision of a personal computer is also additional cost.
