MSc in Marine Structures and Integrity

This programme is designed to equip graduates with a well-founded knowledge and understanding of naval architecture and of its practical application. It allows a combination of subjects to be studied - ship design, performance, production, structures and propulsion.
Course Content
You take a selection of taught modules (100 credits)
and a research project and dissertation (80 credits).
Compulsory modules (90 credits) include:
• corrosion and corrosion control
• structural response analysis
• dynamics of offshore installations
• theory of plates and grillages
• fundamentals of pipeline engineering
• pipeline structural analysis
• optimal marine design
• research skills
Optional modules (10 credits) include:
• design and construction
• marine management technology II
• surveying ships and offshore installations

Entry Requirements
Normally an upper-second class Honours degree, or equivalent, in engineering or another relevant subject. Applicants whose first language is not English require IELTS 6.5, TOEFL 90 (Internet-based) or 577 (paper-based), or equivalent.
