Mengying Feng is a research associate of School of Marine Sciences and Technology at Newcastle University, and a lecturer in School of Management of Chongqing Jiaotong University. She holds BA English Literature from Chongqing Normal University, BM in Management of Accounting from Chongqing University, MBA from Nottingham University, and PhD in Logistics and Supply Chain Management from University of Hull. She has over ten years of industrial working experience in large scale enterprises such as SINOPE, BP joint venture in China, and Ford Joint Venture in China. Prior to her industrial career, she worked as a high school teacher.

Dr. Feng has active research interests in the fields of port performance, maritime logistics, sustainable logistics, supply chain management in manufacturing and low carbon shipping. She is keen on comparative research on port management as well. Holding both a lecturership in Chongqing Jiaotong University and research associate in Newcastle University, Mengying is now playing an active role in Low Carbon Shipping Project (www.lowcarbonshipping.co.uk), which started from 1st Jan. 2010 and is expected to complete by 31st Dec. 2012.
