The MSc in Subsea Engineering and Management is an industrially relevant programme designed for engineers wanting to increase their skills and knowledge of subsea engineering to masters' level. It has been developed in conjunction with firms in the subsea industry and comprises multi-disciplinary teaching, site visits, industrially based projects and visiting industrial lecturers to enhance the relevance and effectiveness of the course.
We are pleased to announce that this programme is undergoing accreditation with several major institutions. We hope to have confirmation of accreditation shortly.
The programme can be studied full time (1 year) or part-time (normally over 2-3 years but can be up to 5 years). Modules are run as 'intensive schools' of a week duration (although some schools will be longer to reflect the credit value of that module). These taught modules make up 120 credits of the course with the research dissertation accounting for the remaining 60 credits. The research project is supported by an academic supervisor and may be conducted with an industrial partner, including the student's own employer.
Most of the MSc modules are available for CPD study. Once you have registered for one module, it will be possible, through credit accumulation, to take further modules until you have enough for a postgraduate qualification. The modules marked with a * are not currently available for CPD study.
