UCAS applicants for 2010 entry

Our website contains lots of information for prospective students such as our Admissions policy, degrees offered, bursaries and scholarships. Our undergraduate programmes are graded as excellent by the Quality Assurance Agency for higher education, with commendations for excellent teaching, student support and guidance, learning resources, and a well structured curriculum.

Research and postgraduate study

We also conduct internationally competitive research and have an excellent reputation for postgraduate training. Our research themes include: functional analysis, group theory and homological algebra (Pure Mathematics), fluid dynamics, superfluidity and magnetohydrodynamics (Applied Mathematics) and statistical bioinformatics, biostatistics, Bayesian statistics and applied probability (Statistics). We offer postgraduate research degrees in all these areas at both MPhil and PhD levels. Statistical consultancy

The Industrial Statistics Research Unit (ISRU) is part of the School and provides a range of professional consultancy services, both internally within the University and externally to business and industry.
