Postgraduate Research Projects

Applications are invited to study for a PhD degree. Applicants may suggest their own project or choose from the projects we've outlined.

Full-time PhD studentships are available for suitably qualified UK and international applicants. These studentships include a tax-free stipend of £14,296 (2016 level) and tuition fees. There is an optional top-up of £1500 available for marking and demonstration duties.

All PhD students will receive a new desktop computer, a travel allowance of £1500, and their own desk in the School of Mathematics & Statistics. Additionally, the School provides funding for other training such as APTs.

The deadline for applications is the 9th December, 2016.

If you choose a PhD project from the areas we've suggested, please provide the titles of your top three projects and list in order of preference. You should use the university's online application form to apply.
