Entry into Newcastle University

The NUEntry Mathematics package gives you the opportunity to enter a prestigious UK University. Using NUEntry you can learn, practice and be examined in the mathematics necessary to gain entrance into the first year in an honours degree course at Newcastle University in the School of Mathematics & Statistics and four other Engineering Schools.

The School of Mathematics & Statistics

The NUEntry Mathematics course has been set up by the School of Mathematics & Statistics.

The undergraduate programmes in the School are graded as excellent by the Quality Assurance Agency for higher education, with commendations for excellent teaching, student support and guidance, learning resources, and a well structured curriculum.

The School offers the following three-year BSc (single honours) degrees:

  • Mathematics, BSc Hons UCAS Code G100,
  • Statistics, BSc Hons UCAS Code G300,
  • Mathematics and Statistics, BSc Hons UCAS Code GG13,
  • Mathematical Sciences (Deferred Choice), BSc Hons UCAS Code G140.

In addition, you can choose to combine the study of Mathematics and Statistics with finance or management. For example:

  • Financial Mathematics, BSc Honours UCAS Code GN13,
  • Financial Mathematics with Management, BSc Honours UCAS Code G1NF.

Entry Requirements

You can enter a degree course in one of the above Schools at Newcastle University if:

  1. You pass the NUEntry Mathematics Examination associated to this course. Normally this examination will be held a suitable venue within your country and will take place in May, June or July. You choose from the dates offered to you.
  2. You meet all other entry requirements, including a suitable English qualification, as detailed in the prospectus for each School.
  3. You have applied through the UCAS system for an appropriate degree course at Newcastle University.

If you have passed the NUEntry Mathematics Examination and have been accepted for entry into the degree course of your choice, then normally you would start the degree course in September of the same year.
