Alternative access to Herschel Building during building works

There is currently no pedestrian access to the University campus from Percy Street/Haymarket due to construction work on new buildings scheduled for completion in summer 2012. Recommended alternative routes from Percy Street/Haymarket to the Herschel Building during this time are:

  • From the Haymarket Metro station or Northumberland Street:
Via King's Walk (next to Campus Coffee and King's Gate), turn left onto King's Road, then follow the alternative route signposted from King's Road to the Herschel Building.
  • From the Haymarket and Eldon Square bus stations:
Via St Thomas Street entrance to King's Road, then follow the alternative route signposted from King's Road to the Herschel Building.

Both routes are fully accessible. Downloadable maps of the University campus are available online at http://www.ncl.ac.uk/about/visit/maps.htm.

We apologise for the inconvenience to pedestrians during this time.
