Maths in the City Prize

Congratulations to Christian Perfect whose entry Topology on the Metro has been selected as one of five prize winners in the Maths in the City competition.

Christian's entry explained how the unique layout of the Tyne and Wear Metro makes it possible to travel through the same station four times on a single round-trip, moving in a different direction each time.

The Maths in the City competition was a great opportunity to get the public interested in mathematics by connecting interesting, yet not widely-understood, maths with things they see in the built environment every day.
