A 3-year PhD studentship to study vortex processes in neutron stars with Prof. Carlo Barenghi is available from September 2013. The studentship covers university fees and salary (currently £13,590pa).
The project is interdisciplinary in character, contains aspects of astrophysics, superfluidity, and fluid dynamics, and is a collaboration with Prof. Nils Andersson (Southampton University). Interests in computational mathematics are essential.
