We are committed to excellence in research and to improve the quality of statistical support for research across the Newcastle campus. We have a broadly-based research programme covering applied statistics and medical statistics, and a lively seminar programme. We provide professional support for the statistical aspects of research conducted in many parts of the University.

Statisticians are also employed within the University in many areas such as Health Services Research, Clinical Trials and Industrial Statistics. Our staff engage in joint research with individuals from these and many other groups. There is a large local base of statistical expertise and a lively local group of the Royal Statistical Society.
