Each year the School awards many scholarships and bursaries to its single honours BSc or MMath/MMathStat students who attain excellent grades in their A-levels.
All new UK/EU undergraduates admitted by the School of Mathematics & Statistics to a Single-Honours degree programme (G100, GG13, G103, GGC3, G300, G1N2, G3N2, G1NF, GN13, G1C1), who
will be awarded a Mathematics & Statistics Excellence Scholarship of £250 for each A-level (up to a maximum of £750 and not including General Studies) that exceeds the offer condition. (Note that an A* exceeds an A). Additional payments of £250 will be made for A* grades in Mathematics and Further Mathematics, respectively.
The award is for the first year of study only.
In order to assist students who wish to study for a Master in Mathematics or Mathematics and Statistics, the School awards bursaries of £1,000 to all students with an average of 70 or higher based on Stage 2 and Stage 3 (Semester 1) modules. (Stage 3 modules are given twice the weight of Stage 2).
The award will be made in two installments, at the beginning of each Semester of Stage 4.
