Saturday Open Day Programme

This is an example programme and will be subject to change. The confirmed programme will be provided on the day.

11.00am–11.15am — Arrive at the School, Herschel Building (no. 37 on the map) and registration.

11.15am — Introduction and welcome by the School of Mathematics & Statistics admissions tutor.

11.30am — Short descriptions of the course structure, student accommodation and life in Newcastle by students on the admissions team.

12:15pm — Sandwich lunch.

1:15pm–1:45pm — Q & A session: academic staff and postgraduate students.

1:45pm–3:00pm — During this part of the afternoon there are various activities in which you will participate in groups, guided by undergraduates. Further details will be available on the day.

  • A: Undergraduates show you around the School and campus and answer your questions about student life in Newcastle.
  • B: Guided bus tour of Newcastle, the University, campus accommodation, and the surrounding environment.

4:00pm — Optional accommodation tours.
