Wednesday Open Day Programme

This is an example programme and will be subject to change. The confirmed programme will be provided on the day.

10:00am-11:00am - Walking tours of two of the University's accommodation sites. Note that these tours are organised by the University rather than the School.

12:15pm — Arrive at the School, Herschel Building (no. 37 on the map)

12:15–1:00pm — Registration followed by a sandwich lunch.

1:15pm — Introduction and welcome to the School of Mathematics & Statistics by the Admissions Tutor.

1:20pm — Short descriptions of the course structure, accommodation, finance, and life in Newcastle by students on the Admissions Team.

2:00pm–4:00pm — We have arranged various activities for you during this part of the afternoon (further details will be available on the day).

  • A: Undergraduates will show you around the school and campus and answer your questions on student life in Newcastle.
  • B: An informal 10 minute talk with a staff member. This gives you the opportunity to have have an informal chat with a lecturer about our degree programme, your application and whether Newcastle is right for you. Please note that this is not an interview.
  • C: A guided bus tour of the University, accommodation and surrounding environment

4:00pm — Tea/coffee, concluding remarks, and completion of questionnaires.

4:30pm — Depart
