ICED13 paper award for Dr Qureshi

A paper presented by Dr Ahmed Qureshi at the ICED 13 (International Conference on Engineering Design) has been given the ICED 13 Reviewers’ Favourite award. Dr Qureshi has recently taken up the post of lecturer with the School at the University’s Singapore campus.

This year, ICED 13 was held in Seoul, Korea from 19th-22nd August. Over 300 paper presentations were made at the conference including Dr Qureshi’s paper ‘Design process commonalities in trans-disciplinary design’ which was accepted for podium presentation. The paper presented results from an industrial study on commonalities between design practice in different industrial sectors. Dr Qureshi’s paper was selected for the ‘ICED13 Reviewers’ Favourite award’, which is reserved for papers securing a high review from the review and scientific committee (top 10% of the selected papers).

The International Conference on Engineering Design is the largest conference hosted by the Design Society, an international non-governmental, non-profit making organisation whose members share a common interest in design. The conference has its roots in engineering, but has radically broadened in scope to a general understanding of design as an activity, its human factors and knowledge aspects, its composed and multi-disciplinary nature, and its societal role and importance.
