Research student finalist at international competition

PhD student Muhammad Jumani has been selected as one of the top three finalists in the ProModel student simulation competition held in conjunction with the 2011 ProModel Solutions Conference.

Muhammad’s project, which was supervised by research associate Dr Javier Munguia, is entitled “Simulation case of an orthotic making facility” and shows the effect of adopting selective laser sintering technology into the conventional orthotic process chain.

The ProModel Solutions Conference takes place in Florida from 30th October to 1st November 2011.  Unfortunately Muhammad is unable to attend in person, but his qualification for the final means Newcastle University is awarded 20 student licences and one professor licence for ProModel simulation software.

Congratulations to Muhammad and good luck in the competition final!
