School highly rated in 2013 National Student Survey

The results of the 2013 NSS show that Mechanical and Systems Engineering students rate their experience here very highly, with 89% of responding students reporting overall satisfaction with their course.

The School scored highly on the skills, enthusiasm and supportiveness of the teaching staff. Students also felt that their courses, in addition to being intellectually stimulating, aided personal development; 90%+ scores were given for developing confidence, improving communication skills and tacking unfamiliar problems.

The National Student Survey (NSS) forms part of the revised quality assurance framework for higher education. Undergraduate students who have been at the university for at least two years (and preferably final year students, for longer programmes of study) are asked to provide feedback on their programmes.
