The World Tribology Congress is taking place this week in Turin and researchers from the School are showcasing their work at it. Professor Tom Joyce, Dr Susan Scholes and Ms Emma Kennard are presenting their research into failed artificial joints at the Congress which, like the Olympics, occurs only once every four years.
Professor Joyce gave a keynote presentation on metal-on-metal hips, as well as presenting three other research papers and chairing a session on biotribology. Dr Scholes and Ms Kennard each presented papers on causes of failure in total knee replacements.
Shown in the image are, from left to right, Ms Kennard, Prof Joyce and Dr Scholes.
