The University’s pig locomotion research project to improve the health and welfare of pigs on farms across the UK has been featured in the BBC’s Countryfile programme.  The research, funded by the British Pig Executive (BPEX), is being undertaken jointly by the School of Agriculture, Food and Rural Development and the School of Mechanical and Systems Engineering.

PhD student Sophia Stavrakakis, whose work is jointly supervised by both Schools, gave Countryfile presenter Adam Henson an insight into how motion capture technology is being used at the University's Cockle Park Farm to prevent lameness in pigs.
