Background
John Roberts, an expert in rail crashworthiness at the Centre of Competence for Crash Safety, Bombardier, France, is Chairman of NewRail. In this capacity his main role is to obtain sponsorship, consultancy and research projects from the railway industry. John represents NewRail as a keynote speaker at seminars and events.
A physicist with a background in the motor and rail industries, John has extensive experience of managing EU multi-national projects. He is also a Visiting Professor with the School of Mechanical and Systems Engineering, for a three year period beginning January 2008.
