Professor Kenneth Dalgarno
Sir James Woodeson Professor of Manufacturing Engineering

Kenny Dalgarno is Sir James Woodeson Professor of Manufacturing Engineering at Newcastle University, is Deputy Director of the Arthritis Research UK Tissue Engineering Centre and co-ordinator of the FP7 RESTORATION project.  For the past decade he has been researching in the area of additive manufacture, with applications in rapid prototyping and manufacturing; polymer engineering; and biomedical engineering and tissue engineering, with work supported by the EPSRC, the EU, Arthritis Research UK, the Carbon Trust, and industry. 

My current research focusses on innovative manufacturing of medical devices, particularly orthotics and tissue engineering scaffolds for application in regenerative medicine.

I contribute to a range of modules related to solid mechanics, and design and manufacture from 1st Year to MSc.
