Kenny Dalgarno is Sir James Woodeson Professor of Manufacturing Engineering at Newcastle University, and is also Director of Research for the School of Mechanical and Systems Engineering; Director (Mechanical) of the Resource Centre for Innovation and Design; and is Deputy Director of the Arthritis Research UK Tissue Engineering Centre. For the past decade he has been researching in the area of additive manufacture, with applications in rapid prototyping and manufacturing; polymer engineering; and biomedical engineering and tissue engineering, with work supported by the EPSRC, the EU, Arthritis Research UK, the Carbon Trust, and industry.
Research at the newly-established Arthritis Research UK Tissue Engineering Centre at Newcastle University will focus on assessment of the immunogenicity of the stem cells from the same and a different donor and their interaction with new biomaterials..
