I came into Medical Education via a circuitous path, starting with a PhD in Theoretical and Computational Physics, being employed by the University Computing Service as a Macintosh advisor and Senior trainer with Netskills for six years. I was employed the then FMCC (now the School of Medical Education Development) to create and disseminate a Medically and Health-related Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) under the TLTP3 initiative. This was highly successful, with the system developed still being used day-to-day by three Medical Schools around the country.
