The HEA Subject Centre for Medicine, Dentistry and Veterinary Medicine, Workshop Programme

This popular rolling programme of workshops is free and open to anyone involved in learning and teaching in undergraduate medicine, dentistry and veterinary medicine. As a recognised national staff development programme all workshops attract CPD points and where relevant are delivered in association with the Association for the Study of Medical Education (ASME). All workshops are designed and delivered by either school staff or national colleagues with specific expertise and experience.

During the time that this programme has run, many staff from medical, dental and veterinary education have participated in workshops such as:

  • Standard setting for undergraduate medical educators: a beginners practical guide
  • Curriculum Maps: what are they and why would we want one?
  • Moan, Moan, Moan. Complaints from Students; Opportunity, Threat, or Just a Pain in the Neck?
  • Maximising Learning in Clinical Rotations in Veterinary Medicine
  • Innovation and Integration: Learning and teaching in the new medical schools

New workshops are added to the programme regularly and the Subject Centre is always happy to accept recommendations for new facilitators or requests for new topic areas to be covered.
