Clinical Academic Office
Providing an important link between the University and our NHS partners.
We aim to be a world leading centre in translational medicine. The Clinical Academic Office provides an important link between the University and our NHS partners to facilitate bench to bedside research, clinical academic training and the development of first-class clinical research facilities.
We work closely with colleagues across our University research Institutes to champion the translational research with the aim of transforming health. We also engage with colleagues involved in teaching to maintain the excellence in training of a clinical academic workforce of the future. Our state-of-the-art research facilities include specialist support for all phases of clinical research.
The Clinical Academic Office, the Dean of Clinical Medicine (Professor Andrew Fisher), is responsible for :
- professional engagement with NHS partners across the Region
- development and support of the clinical academic workforce including training and contractual areas
- championing clinical scholarship and the role of academics in clinical leadership
