Background

As part of Research and Enterprise Services Enterprise team at Newcastle University, I am responsible for all aspects of 'enterprise', including for example consultancy, CPD, patents, licensing, commercial collaborations, project management, knowledge transfer and all related services. An important aspect of my role is to formulate a commercialisation strategy for promising opportunities, to market new technologies to industry, as well as assisting in spin-out company formation.

Research

Although I am no longer actively engaged in research I have an interest in drug discovery, cell biology and immunological conditions.

Teaching

I am a guest lecturer on two MSc modules run by the Faculty of Medical Sciences, Medical Biotechnology and Enterprise and The Science of the Biotechnology Industry where I discuss the process of technology transfer and how to write a business plan.
