Assessment Rationale And Relationship

Creating and managing large web sites requires both practical and theoretical skills, both of which need to be assessed. The practical component will be assessed using a selection of currently available web server software and applications. The coursework will consist of practical development tasks which build on each other to create a working web-publishing platform.

The examination will consist of multiple choice and short-answer questions to test the students' broad knowledge of the topics and concepts covered during the module. There will also be sections requiring the students to show greater depth of understanding in key areas, including the practical application of concepts covered during the taught component.

Study abroad students may request to take their exam before the semester 1 exam period, in which case the length of the exam may differ from that shown in the MOF.

N.B. This module has both “Exam Assessment” and “Other Assessment” (e.g. coursework). If the total mark for either assessment falls below 35%, the maximum mark returned for the module will normally be 35%.
