It is estimated that the global nanotechnology market will reach US$1 trillion during the next ten years employing more than 2 million skilled people worldwide (IEEE Nanotechnology Magazine, June 2008).
nanoLAB is connecting researchers from traditionally separate disciplines to help respond to this global demand for new products and skilled personnel. There are more than 80 nanoLAB staff and student members from across all three faculties at Newcastle University with research interests ranging from fundamental nano science, through mechanical and medical applications to ethical issues.
Newcastle University has recently been chosen to provide the EPSRC National Service for X-Ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS).
The new XPS service also known as NEXUS (National EPSRC XPS User Service) is hosted by nanoLAB. View the NEXUS webpages.
