Ethics and Policy

The ethical considerations of nanotechnology are an ongoing area of concern for the general public who are not always made aware of the facts behind the myths.

CowsNanotechnology contributes massively to society as a whole, nanoparticles based on biomimetic systems can be used to clean up waste and nanotechnology will impact how food is grown and processed as increasing population and pollution levels start to affect current food chains.

Researchers affiliated to the nanoLAB have interests in the following areas:

  • social and ethical implications of medical nano-biotechnology (Dr Woods)
  • Public involvement and engagement in nanotechnology (Miss Brennan)
