At this event, Jo Shapcott will be presenting the prizes for the second Basil Bunting Poetry Award. The award was inaugurated last year to commemorate and celebrate the life and work of Bunting who was one of the leading poets of his generation and who maintained strong links with his birthplace in the North East where he was both Northern Arts Literary Fellow and a Visiting Professor at Newcastle University.
