Following the 2011 Bloodaxe Poetry Lectures comes a reading by two distinctively English poets, Peter Bennet and Tony Williams, introduced by Sean O’Brien.
Peter Bennet lives in rural Northumberland. The most recent of his many poetry collections, The Glass Swarm (Flambard, 2008), a Poetry Book Society Choice and shortlisted for the T.S. Eliot Prize, and The Game of Bear (Flambard, 2011). He is also a founder of the small imprint Enchiridion, which in 2010 published his supernatural ballad Bobby Bendick’s Ride, with illustrations by Birtley Aris.
Tony Williams’ first collection was The Corner of Arundel Lane and Charles Street (Salt, 2009) and in 2011 he published All The Rooms in Uncle’s Head (Nine Arches Press). He teaches Creative Writing at Northumbria University and blogs at: aye-lass.blogspot.com
