Have you done an MA with us, want to continue to develop your writing, but do not necessarily think a PhD is right for you?
Have you taken a short course with us? Would like to take your writing further but don’t want to do one of our accredited courses?
Have you been writing for some time and feel the lack of one-to-one feedback on your work? Are you having a particular structural or stylistic problem with a writing project which might benefit from expert advice?
Our mentoring scheme for writers which will enable you to obtain just the level of one-to-one support you think you require, when you require it.
We can provide mentoring across a range of genres including: poetry, fiction, script and writing for children.
If you think you would like to be mentored please submit a short sample of work to us: 5pp prose or script, or 3-5 poems and a brief description of your whole project. This initial assessment phase means we will only offer mentoring to those writers we feel are at a stage where they might benefit from it. It may take us up to three weeks to make a decision.
The costs of mentoring are as follows:
First session - £200
For this first session, work up to a limit of 10,000 words or 20 poems or 20pp of script will be read.
You will receive written feedback on your submission.
You will be given face-to face-feedback in a meeting lasting one hour or you will be given feedback by phone or email.
Subsequent sessions - £150
You can use subsequent sessions to explore the same submission further, including changes you might have made after the first session, or you may want to submit a further part (same word limits as above) of your project.
