In early July writer, artist and current NCLA PhD student Stevie Ronnie will be launching a series of exhibitions and performances to celebrate Brass Book, a new commission which explores the concept of the book in the digital age by bringing together traditional craftsmanship, dynamic technology and vibrant performance.
The main exhibition runs from Friday 6th July - Friday 31st August 2012 at Wolfson Gallery, Palace Green Library, Durham. The exhibition preview will take place on Friday 6th July 2012, 6pm - 7pm.
The Brass Book will tour then to Bishop Auckland Library (September 2012), Seaham Library (October 2012) and Galleries Goldstein, London (November 2012).
Stevie has also collaborated with musicians from The Sage Gateshead to produce a performance inspired by his experience of working with community in County Durham to create the digital books. This performance is free to attend and will take place on the 9th July at The Sage Gateshead as part of the programme for Brass: Durham International Festival.
