‘One Book’ reading challenge

For this years 'One Book' reading challenge in association with the Booker Prize Foundation, Newcastle University and NCLA welcome Hisham Matar, who will be reading from his novel In the Country of Men and in conversation with William Fiennes at Northern Stage, 7pm, Wednesday 7th November 2013.

 

Copies of In the Country of Men will be available from a stall at the Union during Freshers' Week, and from Melanie.Birch@ncl.ac.uk

All students are warmly invited to sign up for a discussion group about In the Country of Men. There will be groups running on Wednesday 31st October, at 12 noon and 1pm.  Bring your lunch! To sign up please email Melanie Birch at melanie.birch@ncl.ac.uk

The ‘One Book’ reading challenge designed to encourage students to appreciate and engage with the very best contemporary literary fiction, regardless of their chosen field of study. Newcastle University is running this project in conjunction with The Booker Prize Foundation, with 2,000 books being distributed across Newcastle University’s campus.
