Pippa Little shortlisted for the Saltire Scottish Poetry Book of the Year 2017

Royal Literary Fellow Pippa Little's latest poetry collection, Twist (Arc, 2017), has been shortlisted

We are proud to announce that Royal Literary Fellow Pippa Little's latest poetry collection, Twist (Arc, 2017), has been shortlisted for the Saltire Scottish Poetry Book of the Year 2017.

Twist is a work about family and the importance of appreciating life. The poems are centered on the growth of the individual into middle age, a period in which previous experiences are elaborated into constructive life lessons.

The Saltire Society Literary Awards are considered the most prestigious awards of its kind in Scotland. Little is up against author John Burnside, who has been shortlisted in both the poetry and fiction categories this year for his collection Still Life With Feeding Snake (2017) and his novel Ashland & Vine (2017), both published by Cape.

The winner will be announced on St Andrews Day, November 30th. We wish the best of luck to Pippa Little and to all the other shortlisted writers.
