NCLA is thrilled to announce the publication of Shadow Script: Twelve Poems for Lindisfarne and Bamburgh. Shadow Script brings together twelve poets who have strong connections with the North East of England to celebrate and respond to the medieval texts and the haunting landscape of Lindisfarne and Bamburgh. Shadow Script includes poems by Gillian Allnut, Linda Anderson, Peter Armstrong, Peter Bennet, Colette Bryce, Christy Ducker, Alistair Elliot, Linda France, Cynthia Fuller, W.N. Herbert, Pippa Little and Sean O'Brien.
To accompany the publication of Shadow Script, digital artist, Tom Schofield, has created the sound installation Antiphonal, which uses the voices of the poets reading the poems from Shadow Script speaking together and in counterpoint with each other. Antiphonal will be on show at the Lookout Tower on Lindisfarne and at the crypt of St Aidan’s Church, Bamburgh, during July and August 2013.
