Campus Sport Tournaments

The Campus Sport Tournaments are fun participation sports weekends for teams / clubs / societies to play in a multi sports tournament. There is a Winter and Summer tournament each year.

Winter 2017

The next Winter Campus Sport Tournament will take place on Friday & Saturday 1 & 2 December 2017. The tournament will be made up of 8 teams / societies competing against each other across 4 different sports to be crowned overall Winter Campus Sport Tournament Champions.

Teams / Societies must field 1 team in a minimum 3 of the 4 sports to be entered into the tournament. Team points will be awarded for each sport and the society with the most overall points from the 4 tournaments will be champions.

The 4 sports are:

Friday 1 December – 5’s Football (4pm-7pm) & Dodgeball (8pm-10pm)
Saturday 2 December – Badminton (10.30am-12.30pm), & Netball (1pm-4pm)

Summer 2018

The next Summer Campus Sport Tournament will take place on Friday, Saturday & Sunday 9, 10 & 11 March 2018. The tournament will be made up of 8 teams / societies competing against each other across 5 different sports to be crowned overall Summer Campus Sport Tournament Champions.

Teams / Societies must field 1 team in a minimum 3 of the 4 sports to be entered into the tournament. Team points will be awarded for each sport and the society with the most overall points from the 4 tournaments will be champions.

The 5 sports are:

Friday 9 March – 5’s Football & Dodgeball
Saturday 10 March – Netball & Badminton
Sunday 11 March – Rounders


Notes

· Netball is female only

· 5s football is male only

· Dodgeball, Badminton & Rounders are mixed

Number of Players Per Sport

· 5s football – minimum of 5

· Netball – minimum of 7

· Dodgeball – minimum of 6 (minimum of 2 females per team)

· Badminton – minimum of 6 (max entry of 3 doubles pairings/per team)

· Rounders – minimum of 8, maximum of 10 (minimum of 2 females per team)

Teams can be made up of the same players competing in the 4/5 different sports or completely different players for each sport from your society.

Winners / Medals

The winners and runners up of each sport will be awarded medals and there will be an overall trophy for the tournament Champions.
