Newcastle University Rugby Club (NURFC) field 4 competitive men's BUCS National Championship. The first team are in BUCS North A.

Player’s progress through the sides based upon their ability and many go on to represent their counties, divisions & respective countries.

The past few years have seen NURFC players represent England Students, England U20's and their counties along with playing for Newcastle Falcons at all levels.

The club has a proud history of players that have gone on to represent their countries at full international level and the ultimate team - the British & Irish Lions.

There are 2 women's sides that compete in BUCS, the first team compete in BUCS Premier North Division.

The women's club also has a proud history of players that have gone on to play representative rugby for their country, including players in the 2014 World Cup Winning team.
