Newcastle Clinical Trials Unit

Newcastle Clinical Trials Unit is a thriving academic clinical trials unit. We work in collaboration with investigators to design and conduct high quality trials and studies answering important questions, whose finding bring substantial impact to health and social care.

NCTU has a trial portfolio across many clinical disciplines and from different funders (public, commercial (IIT), and charitable).

We're based within Newcastle University’s Faculty of Medical Sciences. The unit works in partnership with Investigators across all disease types, phases of research and methodologies in order to deliver high quality research.

We deliver high quality research. The unit is fully registered UKCRC clinical trials unit.

The unit receives National Institute for Health and Care Research CTU Support Funding. This funding supports the unit in developing and supporting NIHR trials and studies.
