BE LOGIC project Kicks off!

The EC Funded project BE LOGIC kicked off on the 18th September 2008 in Amsterdam.

Tom Zunder and Dewan Islam attended the kick-off meeting of the BE LOGIC project funded by the European Commission under FP7. BE LOGIC is BEnchmark LOgistics for Co-modality.  This project starts on the 1st September 2008 and will continue for 30 months (ends in February 2010). The key objectives of the project are: to improve the efficiency within and across different modes of transport and to support the development of a quality logistics system.  

To achieve these objectives, under the EC aspiration of sustainable but competitive co-modal freight transport policy, there are eight workpackages: Coordination and project management, Research methodology development, Logistics market analysis and initial benchmark, Benchmark transport logistics from a policy perspective, Benchmark transport logistics from a transport chain perspective, Benchmark transport logistics from an intermodal terminal perspective, Quality standard for transport logistics and Dissemination.  

NewRail will lead the quality standard for the transport logistics work package and will be the quality assurance manager for the overall outcomes of the project.  

The partners of this project are: ECORYS (Coordinator), ISL, DAPP, MOBYCON, AUEB-RC, HERRY, VGTU, EUIRR and Newrail(UNEW).
