European Commission DG Mobility and Transport launches European Transport Innovation Challenge 2017, for young transport innovators.
On 29 March, the European Commission DG Mobility and Transport launched the European Transport Innovation Challenge 2017 for young transport innovators, inviting them to come forward with creative ideas to improve transport or mobility. The key word is innovation. It is inspirational thinking that they are looking for - you do not need to have a fully researched project.
The European Commission will reward up to 12 young innovators, aged 18-35, with an invitation to Strasbourg to attend the ITS Congress and Exhibition in June. In addition to free travel and accommodation, and meeting leaders in the world of intelligent transport in Europe, the winners will receive personalised coaching on how to further develop their projects, at a dedicated mentoring workshop. The competition is open to both individuals (including those working for public and transport organisations) and groups, or SMEs.
