NewRail at the British Science Festival

Newcastle University hosts the British Science Festival

NewRail will have an exhibition stand as part of transportNewcastle at the main display area in the Newcastle University Students' Union building from 9-12 September.

Exhibits will include video of the SecureMetro project showing the test explosions which measured the impact of terror bombs on a normal metro train and a specially adapted train carriage.  A model of the adapted train carriage will be on show.

There will also be a chance to see the student-built Formula Student car, an electric car and electric bicycles and research into a solar powered aircraft.

The exhibition is open every day from 9:30 to  15:30.

Every autumn the British Science Festival transforms a different UK city into a celebration of science, engineering and technology. The Festival brings together hundreds of the UK’s top scientists, science presenters and journalists and attracts more than 50,000 attendees each year, of all ages and interests. Events range from lectures and debates, to hands-on activities for families, as well as live music and comedy performances, theatre and exhibitions.
