The aim of the BE LOGIC project was to improve the quality and efficiency within and across different modes of transport, by means of benchmarking in logistics and co-modality.Whereas big companies have their own ways of measuring performance, a benchmarking tool of logistics chains facilitates SMEs to have insight into the potential gains of reconsidering their logistics choices in terms of costs and performances, environmental impact, quality of service. The project defined different benchmarking methodologies and analysed a number of relevant real cases, which contributed to the definition of a web-based benchmarking tool. The project also developed a European Intermodal Route Finder.NewRail led the workpackage establishing a quality standard for transport and logistics (through two rounds of Delphi study and validation workshop).
