				Final year students and staff from the Spanish, French and German sections, together with the Head of School, met up on Wednesday 15th May, with representatives of  Colombia Sin Fronteras , Success4All ,and  Old Newcastle Project  to formally hand in their translations of the website of Colombia Sin Fronteras, a booklet with specific vocabulary for the construction industry for students from Walker Technology College going to Germany and a visitors&amp;rsquo; guide to the Castle Keep.

				 Additional Master Studentship for 2013/14 entry announced ; 
				  The School of Modern Languages is offering an additional scholarship for PG studies for one of the SML alumni.  This is in addition to the full MLitt studentship  starting in October 2013, to enable a student to carry out  research on a topic in one of the following fields: Chinese and Japanese Studies; French and Francophone Studies; German Studies; Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American Studies; Film Studies; Linguistics; Translating and Interpreting Studies.   The School of Modern Languages is also offering a number of fees-only bursaries  (equivalent to Home/EU fees, pro-rata for part time students)  for MA students . 				Schwitters live at the Late Shows</title>

				 SML students to recite poems in the Hatton Gallery ; 
				 School of Modern Languages students from the &amp;#39;Introduction to Literature&amp;#39; first year module will read poems by the German artist Kurt Schwitters during the   Late Shows  in front of the Merz Barn, Schwitters&amp;#39; famous sculptured wall in the Hatton Gallery. Some of the poems were originally written in German, some in English - and some especially translated by the students for this occasion. The recital will start with the iconic &amp;#39;An Anna Blume&amp;#39;and then go on to text collages such as the &amp;#39;Chinese Banalities&amp;#39; and sound poems. This is part of the project  Schwitters@Newcastle  (also on  pinterest ) and also the last chance to see the exhibition &amp;#39; Art in Exile &amp;#39; in the Hatton Gallery. Do come and bring your friends!
