Newcastle University, 10-12 April 2008

The conference will take place in the Bedson Teaching Centre, which is located in the Bedson Building on the Newcastle University campus. The entrance to the Bedson Teaching Centre is just off Queen Victoria Road: it is the white triangle at the top of the Bedson Building on the Campus Map. As you will see on the map, the nearest transport landmark to campus is Haymarket Metro Station. From the metro station, it is a 5 minute walk to the conference venue.
Whether you’re arriving by air or by train, the easiest way to get to the conference venue is by metro to Haymarket. From the airport the journey lasts about 25 minutes and costs 3 pounds; from the train station about 5 minutes and 2 pounds. Taking a taxi is slightly quicker, but much more expensive: some 15 minutes and approximately 15 pounds from the airport; and about 5 minutes and 5 pounds from the train station. Ask to be taken to Queen Victoria Road, opposite the building site of the new hospital (RVI).
If you’re coming from elsewhere in the city, maps of Newcastle upon Tyne are available on www.multimap.co.uk and maps.google.co.uk. The postcode of the conference venue is NE1 7RU.
