Research Group in Film & Media

Contacts | Events

The Research Group in Film and Media brings together researchers across the arts, humanities and social sciences who are engaged in scholarship concerning the theory, history and practice of film, media studies and digital media. Drawing on a range of methodologies the group’s themes and interests are shaped by a shared concern with how film and media representations and practices shape cultural identities, and with an exploration of the interface between film, media and theory. Through the organization of a series of workshops and seminars we aim to stimulate debate and productive exchanges between scholars from different disciplines, drawn both from within the university and further afield. We organize an annual post-graduate conference which provides a stimulating space where research students can present working papers.

If you are interested in presenting your research to the Film and Media Group, or you would like to receive further information about our activities, please contact one of the convenors.
