The Popular Music Research Group was set up by Ian Biddle, Vanessa Knights
and Richard Middleton with a view to consolidating popular music research across
the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. The group runs a regular seminar
series, an annual symposium and is engaged in active research across a range
of fields within Popular Music Studies. The group also works closely with other
research groups in the faculty and University including the Research
Group in Film and Media, the Postcolonial
Research Group, The Americas Research Group
and the Voice Research Group.
