Identifying biomarkers for adult cancers
In a number of collaborative ventures with local, national and European partners we have established large biobanks of clinical material for bladder, breast, ovarian, renal and prostate cancer and an important bank of primary cancer cells and established cancer cell lines.
We continue to interrogate this material to profile the different tumour types to identify cancer-specific gene expression patterns by applying techniques that include 2-dimensional proteomics, laser-capture micro-dissection and high throughput approaches for both siRNA library screening and tissue microarray platforms.
