Convocation Weekend 2012

Meet and greet team at the Convocation eventFrom an international music mogul to the man behind the King of Shaves, Newcastle University Business School has organised four unmissable, free events this month.

As part of this year’s Convocation Weekend, the Business School is calling on all music - lovers to take part in two events with international music legend Tony Wadsworth, the former head of EMI and chairman of the Brit Awards and BPI. 

Two unique lectures will also be held with Will King, founder of male-grooming product King of Shaves, and David Newton, managing director of sporting event specialist, Nova International.

Combining sports, business and music, these free-to-attend events are not to be missed.

Business of Sport - Creating a 'great' brand

In the wake of the Olympic Flame's arrival in the North East, Newcastle University Business School hosts a lecture on the business of sport by David Newton, Managing Director of Nova International, which organises the Great North Run.
 
Nova is the Newcastle based company behind the world’s biggest mass participation activity programme. At the heart of the programme is the Great North Run established 31 years ago by the company’s founder and current Chairman Brendan Foster.
 
The Great North Run now sees over 55,000 people take to the streets each year and has developed into a national programme of mass runs, swims and now cycling events.
